Michelle Monaghan’s Sexy Blue Dress At The ‘Prince Of Persia’ Premiere
Michelle Monaghan showed up in a cute navy blue blue dress at the “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” Los Angeles Premiere yesterday. We’re not sure how we feel about the draped bow on the skirt, but overall we like the sequins on her waist and shoulder.
The actress recently landed a role in “Machine Gun Preacher” starring Gerard Butler. Butler will be playing the real-life hero Sam Childers, a former biker gang member who became a missionary after finding religion in 1992 and going to Africa. Michelle will play his wife, a woman who cleans up her own act and takes care of the kids back home while her husband is overseas.
Shooting for the film begins this summer.
Michelle Monaghan And Michael Shannon Join Machine Gun Preacher
Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon have joined the cast of “Machine Gun Preacher” from Lionsgate alongside Gerard Butler.
The film is being directed by Marc Forster (”Quantum of Solace”) and will start filming this summer.
The project’s script was written by Jason Keller and is based on Childers’ memoir, “Another Man’s War: The True Story of One Man’s Battle to Save Children in the Sudan.”Butler will be playing the real-life hero Sam Childers, a former biker gang member who became a missionary after finding religion in 1992 and going to Africa. While there, he began working in rescuing displaced and orphaned children from war-torn regions. He and his wife operate the charitable organization Angels of East Africa, the Children’s Village Orphanage in Sudan.
Monaghan is playing Childers’ wife, Lynn, and Shannon is in talks to play a close friend of Childers.
Jake Gyllenhaal & Michelle Monaghan: Source Code Couple
Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan share a laugh while shooting their new movie, Source Code, at Millennium Park on Friday afternoon (April 9) in Chicago, Ill.
The on-screen couple was spotted lunching at Park Grill Chicago. Chicago Tribune reports that Jake had French onion soup and a turkey pastrami club while Michelle had chicken noodle soup with grilled artichokes, arugula and la quercia ham.
Source Code is a sci-fi thriller centered on soldier Colter (Gyllenhaal) who wakes up in the body of a commuter who witnesses a train explosion.

Road Talk with ‘Trucker’ Star Michelle Monaghan
Oscar voters often love it when beautiful models, or starlets accustomed to playing the one-dimension girlfriend roles, reveal that they can actually be serious actresses when given a chance. The transformation has worked for the likes of Jessica Lange and Charlize Theron in the past – and this year, Michelle Monaghan looks to be shaking up the perceptions of people used to seeing her in the likes of “Made of Honor” and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” with her tough, subtle work in James Mottern’s “Trucker.”
Yesterday, Roger Ebert gave the film four stars and announced, “Her performance clearly deserves an Oscar nomination.” Monaghan clearly remains a longshot in the category, but if nothing else a little buzz might tempt a few more viewers to check out the spare, finely-drawn, understated drama, which opens in a few theaters today and rolls out to more over the next few weeks. Considering that the film has been making the festival route for much of the last two years, the actress welcomes the attention.

Michelle Monaghan Going For Oscar With Trucker
A small indie drama getting released in the fall isn’t really news. But when the very press release for that film shouts “Nominate me for an Oscar!”, it’s at least an oddity. The Michelle Monaghan drama Trucker hit the festival circuit last year, and now has been picked up by Monterey Media, which will release the film October 9.
